Where the plans allow it, concealed and recessed blind boxes planned in with the architect keep the ceiling line clean and the window reading as glass alone — the usual answer for a new-build or a full renovation here. Wide glass runs are almost always motorised roller blinds on one control, so a whole elevation opens or closes together rather than blind by blind. Where shading needs to sit outside the glass, external venetians in a muted, estate-matched tone do the job without standing out from the street.
Entertaining decks facing the fairway suit a folding-arm awning or zip screen, both available in colours that keep the estate's committee happy.
